Welcome to our Road Safety website. Thank you for taking the time to visit and learn about what HAAD is doing to foster a safer environment for the many residents of Abu Dhabi who drive on our roads. This Public Health initiative is part of HAAD’s strategy of continually identifying the factors that negatively impact the health of the people of Abu Dhabi and creating high-impact campaigns to increase the awareness of these factors and reduce unhealthy behavior. |

| Road deaths are all too common within our emirate. But there is much we can do as individuals to drastically reduce the number of people killed through road traffic injuries on our roads since many of these injuries are avoidable if people simply followed basic safety rules. Excessive speeding and lack of seat belt use contributes in many cases to the incidence and severity of injuries. |

I would like to thank Sheikh Khalid Al Qassimi for his support in promoting road safety on behalf of HAAD. His leadership as a highly respected and accomplished rally driver makes him an ideal spokesperson for our cause. |

ABOUT HAAD |

The Health Authority - Abu Dhabi (HAAD) was established as a governmental authority by Law No. (1) of 2007. HAAD's mandate and mission is to ensure excellent quality healthcare for the community in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, and to define the strategy and shape the regulatory framework for the health system. HAAD's vision is that in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi everyone has access to healthcare and freedom to choose their provider within an open system, where all certified providers of health services deliver World-class quality care and outcomes in compliance with the highest international standards. The health system is envisioned to be quality driven and encompassing the full spectrum of health - protecting, promoting, sustaining and restoring services across the territory of the Emirate.
